Friends of the Ocean City Historical Museum, Inc cordially invite all members of our community to the grand opening of our major summer exhibit "A Diamond Celebration".  Join us for the ribbon cutting on Saturday, May 17th at 11:00AM.  The Flanders Condo Association invites all to follow us from the Museum to the Flanders Hotel for light entertainment and refreshments starting at 12:30PM.

"A Diamond Celebration" will feature pictures, artifacts and memorabilia from the Flanders Hotel and Ocean City Pops.  This year the Flanders Hotel, the premier vacation destination of Ocean City in the 20's, celebrates its 80th Anniversary and the Ocean City Pops celebrate their 75th anniversary this year.  We applaud both organizations and will honor them by hosting this exhibit in our museum during the summer of 2003.

We encourage all of you who have memories, pictures, artifacts, etc. from the Flanders Hotel or the Ocean City Pops share this experience with us as well as donate or loan to our exhibit.

The Friends of the Ocean City Historical Museum have scheduled our 17th Annual Museum Fair for Saturday September 06, 2003 from 9 AM to 4 PM at the Ocean City Tabernacle Grounds, 6th Street and Central Avenue.  As usual, we will emphasize antiques, collectibles and quality crafts in our advertising. The weekend of September 07 will be a busy weekend in Ocean City with a number of other events scheduled which will help to draw the crowds. The month of  September is known to draw the Senior Citizen crowd, and past Septembers have brought record crowds to the "shore" on the weekends. We hope that you will be able to participate in our "fair" this year.

Our dealer spaces are approximately 20 feet wide and 12 to 15 feet deep. Shade locations are at a premium and will be assigned on a "first registered " basis. Cars or trucks will not be permitted in the dealer space. Hard surface unloading and parking is plentiful on the grounds. Restrooms are available on site. The wall-size advertisement for the Shore Fast Line, which was recently exposed during demolition of the Moorlyn Theatre, will be dismantled by contractors and donated by current owners to the Ocean City Historical Museum, Inc.  The school district of Ocean City has offered to temporarily store the wall-size sign in their armory until a decision can be made regarding the sign's future.

This will be a major task for the Stone Works Masonry Company as the sign is actually a series of  3' x 12' segments of Tin that have been painted with the Mural.
