January 2004                                      Volume XXX                                      No. 1 Ocean City Historical Museum   1735 Simpson Avenue,   Ocean City, NJ   08226 From The President’s Desk . . .   You will not believe what your museum looks like today. As you are aware we closed on December 15th to clean and store all of our artifacts, books, pictures, etc. in preparation for the installation of new carpets and repairs to the humidity damaged walls and ceilings and to complete the installation of an all new HVAC system and ductwork. Yvonne Skaggs our Collections Manager and her staff have completed about 80% of the cleaning and relocating our collection into trailers located in the rear of the building. We are slightly ahead of schedule and the reopening for Memorial Day seems like it might work. We will need your help both financially and physically this year. The volunteer docents will have to be retrained to our new look prior to our opening in May. Of course the cost of this cleaning and the remaking of the museum is seriously depleting our operating funds and we will be embarking on many new fund raising efforts.   Stay with us, talk to your family and friends about our grand reopening in May. Watch channel 2 on your TV and the newspapers for all of the great things we will be doing this spring and summer. OFFICERS   AND TRUSTEES 2003 PRESIDENT PAUL S.
