Volunteers Needed at the Museum

The Ocean City Historical Museum, Inc. located at 1735 Simpson Avenue in the Ocean City Cultural Center is currently seeking students for un-paid Internship positions.

Job Description - Summer Intern
The Summer Intern position reports to the Business Administrator.  The Business Administrator will manage the Museum's intern workload and daily job assignments. The intern will also have dotted line responsibilities to the Volunteer Committee and the Curatorial Committee. This will be an unpaid ten hour per week position.



General Duties
1. Give tours to Museum visitors.
2. Assist Curatorial Committee in creating displays and managing collection.
3. Assist Curatorial Committee in documenting and cataloging collection.
4. Give general clerical assistance to Museum office on an as needed basis.
5. Be a "Goodwill Ambassador" for the museum.
6. Other duties as required by the Business Administrator

Expectations of the Intern
1. The Intern should become comfortable interacting with Museum Staff, Volunteers and Executive Board of Trustees.
2. The Intern will have a general idea of how a Business office works and understand the daily activities.
3. The Intern will understand the complexities of managing a Museum and preserving a collection.
