About The Event

Rutherford B. Hayes, a Civil War veteran, was president, so songs from that era were popular.  Stephen Foster had recently died and we knew his music.   The American West was being explored, so we sang cowboy songs.   Gilbert and Sullivan visited the U. S. in 1879, mostly for the purpose of protecting their copyrights because everyone was using their music.

Come sing along and surprise yourself with memories and familiar tunes.
